Nope, doesn't break easy. I've tested that! It's a little bit more difficult to install, because you have to pre-thread each hole with the special stainless screw, but other than that, there's nothing to it. It's definately lighter, but I think it's more for show, then for go.
Then again, I suppose every little bit helps.

The graphite is really better for stock racing than mod because in stock there is only so much power you can have, but mod you can use whatever wind you want. In stock it helps a little with acceleration and stiffness of the suspension, but in mod its mainly the suspension part, since people will be running faster and slower motors in mod you wont really notice it much.

Dave is right, you, then again, may not even notice a difference at all, some people will say that it breaks easier, but I have not had any strength problems with my XXX when I started loading it up with Graphite. It is lighter, but not a really huge difference, My theory is do not replace anythign with graphite until it breaks, and you have everything else you need, like batteries.
Then again, if your track is supremely rutted and bumpy, graphite may not be for you, the stock chassis' allows some flex, which can be a good thing, for fast, smooth tracks, you will better notice the advantage of Graphite.

graphite is the lightest R/C hop-up parts you can get. it is also the weakest. it is pretty strong, but weaker than composite.

my opinion is never buy a graphite chassis because of radio interference, especially with a am radio, as for other graphite stuff don't buy it unless you NEED it

I couldn't disagree more fast, graphite weave just plain looks cool. It's a great upgrade if you care how your car looks.

I have a Full Graphite chassis on my XXXT....really didn't cost alot, only 12 bucks if i break a a-arm. I can't really tell that the graphite helps in anyway. If you want graphite go for it. I haven't brokin a graphite part yet but i never broke a plastic part so i really can't tell you if its any stronger.

Molded Graphite is stronger than standard composite.
The big plus with graphite parts is that they do not fracture....they either break, or they don't. A standard composite part will fracture on an impact, and then break later when you just land a jump a little ascew, or something else simple.

I like this thread. It has inspired me to start another, similar thread.

Thing is that Graphite doesnt flex as much to absorb the impact and it break easier, especially in what I have expirenced.

LOL. Me and my friend weighed our buggies with no batteries. He owns a spec which came out to be about 1-2 onces heaver, and he's running all plastic, which the KE has all graphite. I prefer plastic over graphite because I don't really see/feel a difference.

SirSpeedy's got it right...graphite is stronger but when it breaks it goes all at once. With proper electronics installation then graphite will not be a source of glitching. Most glitching I've seen (when the electronics were not actually dammaged) is due to poor installation of electronics. IE: power wires too long so they stray too near the antenna or reciever, placement of the reciever too close to the ESC or motor, not using capacitors...
But...This is more of a racing hopup than it is a bashing hopup. Unless your an experienced racer you probably won't be able to notice what difference it makes. So if your bashing or a rookie racer just stick with the stock parts for now.
