If its a sport im pretty sure it doesnt have bearing. If so that will slice your rotating mass, which means more speed. And if you running on the stock 540 type motor, you might consinder finding your novak manual and seeing whats the lowest turn motor and go with that.

if you are not limited by what motor you can run.

THEN A MOTOR!!! you could take off 1/3 of the rotating mass (but that would cost over $100) or you could get a nice motor, which is $30.

however power is nothing control, a good servo is actually a better investment.

but a motor makes it go faster, a less rotating mass adds effencintcy

Actually, bearings reduce rolling friction, not mass. Bearings and bushings just sit there, they don't rotate. They are just there to support the drivetrain with the least amount of friction as possible. Anyway, bearings are a must, dude.

Go for the bearings, then maybe 2 or 3 better batteries before u go for the super fast motor.

Guess what? I've been in this hobby for 8+ years and I've spent loads of money, but I've NEVER used a mod motor. NEVER. I've been happy with fast stock motors. I say get used to driving your buggy, add all the hop-ups you want, master your driving skills and then think about buying a mod motor. That's just how I look at it.

I have a Factory Team B3 and it is box stock except for a Green Machine 3Pro.It is very fast and I am glad that I boght the motor. The only thing I bought which regret is aluminum outdrives.I made a jump and landed sideways and thought I bent the outdrive but I didnt it was the rim I have run it twice and can already see wear.I would get shock oil and springs if you plan to race.If you dont have bearings get them first as others said. http://albums.photopoint.com/j/Thumbnail?u=1517197&a=11466620&p=40423048&Width=100&Height=100&Sequence=0
