I want to race my XXX-S G+ at my local indoor track and am wondering what pinion gear to use. I'm using a P2K2 and the track is a pretty short asphalt track (a lap in stock takes around 10 to 11 seconds). I have run 128/35 and 128/33 and both selections make the motor run very hot (that motor seemed to run warm in my T4, so I'm guessing it will run hotter in a 4wd sedan anyways..). I got a heatsink for the motor and hopefully that will help, but should I go to say, a 30 tooth pinion?? The car does tend to accelerate at the end of the short straight instead of the beginning / middle part of it...)

Any suggestions??

Well if you are is too slow into the turn and it takes you the whole straight to hit top speed then you need to go ahead and use the smaller pinion. I'm running the red spur with a 16 tooth I think with my C027 for my indoor track.
