I wanted to know what you guys thought went wrong when the diff gear separated right where you have to pop the balls into their sockets? Thanx :)

hey I have a xxx-t dirt spec and had the same problem it comes fom the diff being too loose . When you run your xxx the diff slips and simply melts the center out of the dif gear itself . I hope this sheds a little light on your probem . Luckily diff gears are cheap but when it happens to in the main like it did me its a bummer .

Your diff is too loose. When your diff is loose the diff gear will spin and the heat will melt the gear. To properly adjust your diff get it tight and stick a couple of screw-drivers or allen drivers in the outdrives and stick them on a hard surface. try to spin the gear and if it moves tighten it a quarter of a turn at a time untill the gear dosen't move. hen after you run a battwith your new diff take it out and tighten it agian. Your diff will settle and it will probably loosen up a bit. After you tigten it the second time you should have a problem-free diff for a while.
Also a way to tell if your diff is loose wen your running your XXX is if you hear a barking noise when you land a jump or when you give it heavy throtle.
