Probably somewhere around .7A would work, but AAA's usually do not like to be fast charged. It will destroy the batteries over time. Much faster than the typical sub-c cells.

Walter,
Are your AAA batteries NiCAD or NiMH? We run NiMH batteries and charge them at .8 amps. The NiMH batteries are much better than NiCad, no memory to worry about and longer charges with more power. We do occasionally put the individual cells on our discharge trays and this has also improved the performance. I can usually run at least 4 nights of racing and practice before recharging.
