The mini-Z is quite fast for a little car. With the stock motor and the largest pinion of the 3 optional gears, I think it could run at most 8-10 mph. A very rough guesstimate as I have only ran mine indoors.

The cheapest I have ever seen them was for about $90 US while I was in Hong Kong last summer (that's why I have one!). Unfortunately, I have never seen a Mini-Z go for this price in the states.

The Mimi-Z uses a 130 size motor if I am not mistaken. Tamiya makes a number of 130-size motors for their slot cars, ranging from high torque to high rpm. Be careful when choosing to install an aftermarket motor. I have heard the ESC in the Mini-Z cannot handle hotter motors so it would be safest to buy Kyosho's optional X-Speed Mini-Z motor should you want more speed.

Sorry, Tokyo Kid. I believe you're talking about the Tyco Canned Heats. Is the controller round and stored in the lid of the tube? I also saw a few of them in Hong Kong (saw a Subaru Impreza in a white/green/red Castrol paint scheme).
