Will Local Hobby Shops accept trade ins on a new rtr. I wanna trade in my Electric pede, and rustler. I bought them bought for x-mas for my son and I. I shouldv'e bought nitro but my wife didn't think my son could handle it. the cars have only been outside for maybe an hour tops. how much do you think i could get for them both. all stock no hop ups.

Welcome aboard Rtn, the depreciation on RC stuff is atrocious. If you get more than 50% of your investment, you're doing good. As for trading it in with a shop, you'd have to see if a local hobby shop has a consignment or used RC program.

Your best bet is to take some **really** good pics of it and sell it on eBay, they have seller protection methods in place like no other sale or trade site and you will most likely get your best price.

Or do what most of us do, keep it, buy more, and tell the wife you'd never get your investment back, might as well keep it. :D

Or you could clean them up really good and take them to the local track and set up a card table and put them up for sale there.

Keep them and hop them up be way cheaper in the long run of loosing half of what you got in them + the price of two new nitros! what don't you like about them? I tell you right now you'll be lucky to get $75 for each if they are stock.......

personally, electric is a much better and usually cleaner way to go. after 18 years in the hobby i have owned 3 nitro vehicles, i have only 1x nitro vehicle in our stable and it it is an 1/8 buggy not built and being converted to electric (brushless) when the time comes.

i enjoyed the nitro sound, smell, and sound.... but definately do not like having to tune the engine every time you run, the mess, and seemed like constant cleaning.

now we have mostly brushless systems in 75% of our R/C's. cant beat the the speed, and less cleaning that they offer.

i am with Vato Loco on this; keep you stampede and rustler, focus on upgrades, and custom goodness ;)
