To me it is... it's a good "beginners" kit... and it's tamiya... the not so good part of it is it's shocks... they are not oiled filled... they are friction shocks... then again i get tons of fun seeing that thing bounce around... really it's a great car... very affordable

That and it's practically a tank, so good luck breaking it. :D

I just built one of those for a friend and it only took me an hour and a half (just the chassis). It may be a little crude, but it is a fun car. I have even seen Rally versions of this car. All that was done was to add longer rally shocks and tires.

Im a proud owner of a TL01 and let me tell you its a good car If you havent honed you driving skills. Ive wrecked so many time I cant count and I have yet t breack somthing. And with a few hop-ups (bearings, oilfilled shocks, and new tires) it will run with the best of them. I race mine aganst TC3's all the time and I win a lot of the time. So all in all Id say its a great car

Hey Kris... no one was implying that you were a beginner... only that the tl01 is a beginners kit :p but are you expressing interest in the kit? ? if so, like we said so far... it's a great kit from tamiya

i have the kit and it runs GREAT! Jus buy some hop ups, like oil filled shocks tires blabla ;) thats it. mine runs great, and it absorbs all bumps w/o being affected. and i know ur not supposed to, but jumping it is fun too :) tighten the shocks some and it doesnt even slam the chassis :) im selling mine tho, going to nitro, its a VERY good car, I raced mine as a rally car for a while, raced a nitro truck, and lost alot of interest in cars. Trucks are jus so fun to drive in dirt and jump and stuff :)
on different note, is there anyway to get my chassis to be lighter?
oh and on the crash thing, its impossible to brake these things :/ first time i got it i flipped it so many times and theres hardly any scratches on it. only scratch is on bottom of chassis like every single car gets.

I like tamiya kits a lot. I bought a pan f103rs and that took me 8 hours to build. (first time) It's very fast for the money but tamiya doesnt have oil filled shocks. You can always hop up but I think they cost a lot. Have fun

the TL01 isnt a beginer car..well maybe at stock but they have hop ups so it will be racing condition and with these hop ups it could easily compete with a TL01 :)
