The Hype that AE stirred up during the prerelease of the TC3 was very slick marketing. They were late getting into TC's and the hype made almost EVERYONE who races sell their RS4 and buy the TC3, like myself. Unlike most and being an AE guy for many years I just waited for 7 months before I got my TC3, and when I did I was disappointed, the quality was sub par and molding process left much to be desired and not to mention AE was rude at times only because they were frustrated with the many calls of complaints. Yes they replaced parts with bad stuff and never solved the issues. those that own one will know what I mean. And Im not even eluding to the delicate a-arm issue. I'm just not satisfied with the setup out of the box and the slop that existes on initial setup. You need so much aftermarket support making this car very expensive. the tweak of the chassis is so far out and ive tried two standard and one graphite chassis and no change .
Anyone have any thoughts similar to mine.

Steve, your on your own, sorry man. Nothing of that happened to mine except the arms breaking, so I bought graphite in the rear and Alum up front and no problems. But I didn't even build my XXT CR GP because everything was wrong on it, suspension, CVD's, everything.

"WOW! How fast does that go?" About 40mph. "Cool, It really flies!!! Nice car!" Thanks "Whoa, it flipped at full speed when it hit that bump!" It's a blowover and I just ruined my body "THAT WAS COOL!" LOL I didnt like it http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

i race the tc3 lets just say its the greatest touring car out and is the most easiest tuning cause of the shaft drive, so if you have any problems other than hub carriers or rear toe in then you messed it up when you built it, if your saying its bad cause you need to buy electronics well all of the good cars dont have electronics ok. well if there's a problem with it tell me what it is and i'll help fix it. maybe you built it to fast and forgot to set up the setting like you should.

I just got mine running for the first time about 2 weeks ago, since then while playing with it and learning to drive it (this is my first RC car) I've hit countless curbs in front of my house, cart wheeled thru the neighbors lawn, hit a fire hydrant airborn after jumping a curb on accident, and also managed to hit the neighbors car tire... ZERO damage to the car, minor scratches to the body (big deal, I knew the body was gonna get trashed while I was learning anyway)... from what I've seen this is a VERY well made car, it is tough and the molding process was near perfect, I barely had anything that was mis-molded or had excessive flash on it...

big thumbs up from me...

I have demolition derbies with my 2 friends that actually have TC3s (thank me associated http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif ) No one has broken anything excpet 2 spur gears from jumping them off 3 foot ramps. I totally advise you not to do this. And I race this thing and do really good for myself, can you beleive that? Well I like that one persons saying on this board "WEEEEEEE, What do you mean your not suppost to jump an on-road car?" I bring that to a whole new meaning http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

You must always push the limits. Because if you never fail, you will never succeed.

Cuss out the turn marshals because they cussed at you!!!

Crashing is an art of driving that goes bad in result in human or mechanical error.

My TC3 team car was just fine when I put it together and I had no problems maybe you should have assembled yours more carefully.

I've hardly had my TC3 for any amount of time....in fact, I haven't even had a chance to race it yet. But I must honestly say that it is one SWEEEEEEET car. AE instructions were GREAT, car went together piece of cake...now I'm just itching to get the new work schedule (comes out Thursday) so I can see if I can race Friday or Saturday...

As far as the tweak... #1, all of the batts are on one side of the chassis, try adding weight to the other side! #2, if you crank down too far on the motor screws...you tweak the chassis.

I believe this guy posts on another message board, that i also post on. Sounds like he's the guy that got that one in a million "bad egg" and thinks he should inform the whole world. Fortunately just like on the other board every other satisfied customer shows up and sets the record straight. OHH and he will claim that the chassis where tweaked right out of the box, Yeah he checked it before he assembled it.....or so he says.....

Impactplayer, If you read my comments carefully you would not be so negative . Im looking for those that share my issues. and there are many . 16 years in RC and 9 AE kits later , sorry this one TC3 is a dud. Great design but please refine it. Sorry I expect more from AE. Well Mr.Husting retired and this is what we can expect. I'm not saying all owners are unhappy with the TC3 but there are issues never been addressed. Yes ,I am winning with this kit ,but still not happy with it. Yes its fast but big deal if it contantly tweaks. Remember the day of the Pan car, well this TC rivals in complexity despite the great manual etc. Parts are everywhere, thats a plus. If your the type that cant wait to build and race and dont care about precision then you will find this hyped up car GREAT to brag about. Readers of this topic may have read my comments on RC10.com(TC3 Chat),and although I contantly complained of the rear toein issue AE finally woke up on it.Molding flaws like this cost AE much $$$. But they fessed up. Look at the big picture here. The TC3 is designed to be a money maker , not a money loser. If you were the type of racer that went out and bought that expensive Aluminum Uprights(rear hub carriers)at initial build up and stuff you would not have noticed the toein flaw. PS i'm not bashing the TC3, read between the lines.
The TC3 is the standard for TC's , but needs too much support at this time. It must be refined. Instead AE has released the Factory Team Edition, to stir more money and get rid of some of that eye candy sitting on thier shelves. I guess you will run out and buy that new kit if you haven't already done so!

I was on on Ae's chat area for a while.Feel free to continue comments here. I also have advice on setup. AE no longer posts my advice or comments, in an effort to protect thier product they refuse to allow me to post my much shared opinions on their chat board. They edit me out of their chat board constantly.
AE cant hire me, so they must be afraid of me ! funny stuff! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

your an idiot. learn how to build cars. this car your talking about is the most advanced state of the art touring vehicle ever to exist. if there is a problem it must be you cause everyone is amazed how this car is. lets face it its the fact that its the best car and you can't win with it.

YOU FORGET... I posted THIS FORUM, not you, IMPACTPLAYER, you are the guy who comes to the track and looks for the fastest guy to beat. That person is ME. I suggest that YOU go to the AE TC3 board and smooze your TC3 as great.... The rear toein problem was addressed by me and affected thousands of customers . I hammered AE about it.The issues was fixed IN a slow fashion. I even hand fed AE about the bad molding process possibility. You admit you saw it on the TC3 board yourself as others did. If you had 1% of the R/C experience I have in 16 years with AE kits you would: 1)agree with me
or
2)leave this forum and hang out at AE's garbage hype site or create your own hype elsewhere.

Sounds like you even work for AE!!!
You put a slant on all my issues in my forum.
Either you agree with me,or have positve ideas, or just leave. You are a bucket of AE hype.

Guess why cars break , news flash ! they break when you hit stuff . I have a TC3 , awsome . The car is sooooo easy to drive . I put a 10 double in it and raced it for the first time , guess what !!! I did not break it . Instead of wasteing your time cryin about how easy a car breaks , try driving slower . get used to the track , the more comfy you fell the faster you can go

I just got my Tc3 on sunday from RC Madness, the only problems that i had was glitching, thats because my Controller batteries were about dead, but any ways the Tc3 is AWSOME, i only had to adjust the camber and toe in/out, this car is great

guess how strong this TC3 really is. i was running a 10turn double Reedy sonic 2 motor in it and had LRP V6. with a 8 cell battery, **** i'd say it was going about 70mph. any way you know those concrete curbs that stand straight up well guess what it went about 70mph into the curb and nothing happened to it. no sign of breakage or notin. this was not a test, and not my driving i had some bad front tires that got severd down the side of the glue and had no steering.

I agree with stevecnyc.

There molding is flaky, Why do my servo post feel like they are going to srip? Why do the hing pin carriers feel the same when secureing them form the bottom of the chassis?

Had the same servo mount problem with there T2 truck years ago, also there molding gave me poor gear box mesh on my RcTOGT.

Sure things break when you hit boards but get this!::: I RACED MY PRO2 for 1.5 years and never had a DNF from broken parts!!! I ran 3 outdoor races with not problems this summer and in practice on carpet track last weekend i snapped a rear arm and bent the hing pin!.....My pro2 would have just drove off un damaged....

I dont know why so many TC3 owners are brain washed over this cars strenghts??? ITs a great car but its not strong.

Ok guys blast me for a while now! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

ok you got serious problems its called overtightening srews, see you get all excited and go i got gotta get this done and tighten it as far as it can go. here one thing your hand is about a 1000 times the size of this tiny screw and you tighten it as hard as you can and it strips. its like having godzilla put your real car together moron
