The Mutilator shown here is a production version, which means OFNA has started shipping these bad boys. The Mutilator is a RTR 1/8 nitro truggy that’s ready to take on the track or your front yard. It’s powered by a huge OFNA/Force .32 mill for leapfrogging over monster jumps and blasting out of corners with serious punch. It has a hard-coated and stretched aluminum chassis, 150 cc fuel tank, threaded-body aluminum shocks, Jammin CRT diffs, Violater king pin suspension and it’s topped of with a painted, trimmed and decaled truggy body and nylon wing.

The CRT diffs is incorrect. It has the Blazer SST diffs, and 50T spur.

It looks like it uses alot from the Blazer/Violator rc's. But I bet it can hold it's own. Aside from the cast knuckles and plastic chassis braces it looks pretty solid. Both of those parts are available in cnc aluminum too. So I think this truggy will do nice.

It looks to me like the Jammin X1 CRT RTR body and wheels.

Have you seen this truck, or do you have some inside information? Just curious.

I'll agree that in the pictures it does make it look kinda goofy, but that's just how pictures work sometimes. In person it wouldn't look that way because you'd spend the whole time just trying to get over how big the thing is.

I believe it's going to sell for around $450.

The rims are Dominator dish, with the huge offset, as it is not running wheel extenders. However, it does have the CRT RTR rim stickers on it.

The body is a CRT body.

I dont think the CRT or CRT RTR look toyish, not sure where that conclusion would come from?

The stickers are not attached when you open the box.
They are the same bodies as the jammin, just a differnt paint theme,
Same wheels the jammin rtr uses.
Jammin uses the big bore shocks though.

TheSnick

Actually the wheels are different, they have a wider offset. The cheesy wheel stickers are the same though.

I can assure u the Jammin CRT Diffs are NOT in this vehicle. The Violator/Blazer SST kingpin suspension doesnt bolt up to the jammin/hong nor X1 CR/CRT gearboxes ... AND if they did, you would see a giant 60+ tooth spur on this truck cuz jammin diffs cant hold a large enough diff crown gear to have proper truggy gearing. One of the reasons we chose the BLAZERS gearing for our truggy ...wide arm truggy using low CG spur gear and no raised up drive line or Throttle brake servo.

Hong Nor makes this vehicle for ofna - as they do the Jammin CRT - lots of cross over pieces. Funny thing is we made this truck a LONG time AGO - the Tazer PRT. Except we made ours with the right suspension system :-)

Here's the truggy 4dmnyc - from these forums ... got from us:

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c151/socalrc/4DMNYC/DSC00406.jpg
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c151/socalrc/4DMNYC/DSC00402.jpg

They had ample opportunity and knowledge that their KINGPIN SUSPENSION wasnt durable. The Tazer and this truck are born from the Blazer SST , OFNA 9.5 Buggy violator .. and the Twin Titan Monster Truck ... but the mutilator borrows some insignificant items from the Hong Nor X1-CRT. We utilize the Hong Nor CRT Center Chassis braces and the shocks off the crt - oddly - OFNA left those things off a hybrid race truggy and opted for lessor quality items - but at < $500 kit - guess thats expected. I cant wait for this trucks release - it will be a serious value, and will readily convert to a TAZER ST or PRT relatively LOW cost.

Note the plastic center chassis braces? Good gawd man! I see they opted for a better wing than the smaller CRT's, and that looks like a pretty DOPE Upgrade RC sticker kit to me.

Lots of racers like the wheel stickers when they test their brakes to see if either front or rear is locking up or to keep tabs on them by the pit guys - so they serve a function not just to look West Coast Chopper like Jesse James :-)

If you buy a mutilator! make shure to buy alot of spare cvd's!!! ofna is just trying to recoup money from the failed blazer sst as they know they will bait a few suckers :rolleyes:If you want a real truggy then at least get something that will finish a main like the crt/crt rtr /tazer/kyosho/lsp-r ect..

When I ordered replacement wheels for my CRT RTR the package said "dominator"

socalBash

Is the wheel hex mounting point towards the center of the rim or near the inner bead edge? If its in the center - or says 28mm inside the rim - its for a crt - iff the offset is all the way to the inner edge of the rim - yeah its a dominator wheel, and not the right one for a Jammin CRT.

Ball racing, you ordered the wrong part number.

I've had the violator and the KP suspension is horrible. I've had it break about 4 times till I cut off the head of a machine screw and used it as a turnbuckle, then I could bend it back, the steel one just break straight through.

The front suspension had limited down travel because the dogbones are so pressed in the cup. I used the Ti nitride dremel bit to cut the inside so they could sit a little further.

The 9.5 C hub is a great buggy to turn truggy though. The smaller arms could give you a turning advantage and with ofna maxx adapters and some standard wheels, as opposed to offset, could make for a better truggy.

If you are good enough to not get really rough with it on bumps, a narrower truck has all the advantage.

Hey socal, I tried to send you a PM, but your message box is full, so I'll just post what I was going to send you here...

Hey Socal,

It seems as though (to me) that you have "supreme" knowledge of Ofna RCs. My friend just bought a Mutilator for an astounding $200 new on sale. I showed him the mutilator thread on this site (the rcx one) and he saw your post about the suspension upgrade kit. He wants to know what suspension, if any other, he can run on the stock diff housings. Can he run the Titan suspension, like on your Tazers?

Thanks
T.J.

P.S. nice talking to you again.

He can get this from us and tazer-ize that Mutilator. Where'd he get the Mutilator? Sure its not a Blazer SST?

Well, he hasn't actually "got" it yet (sorry for the missunderstanding), but he has ordered it from a hobbyshop in New York called New World Hobbies. When I said "just got" I meant "just ordered", I'm really sorry for getting your guys hopes up. They said the first day it gets in, they are sending one directly to him. Before he brakes it in, he wants the suspension conversion just to prevent anything from breaking right away.

So, how much is that ^^^ conversion kit? I can tell it's not just the super titan conversion, or are those arm's the normal titan arms? Thanks for the great and quick feedback.

Distributor pricing for the Mutilator is projected well over $350. New World is taking low ball pre orders or something. $200 must be just a prelim gimmick - prolly wont fill that order at $200. Tower does that kinda stuff all the time dont they?

LOL :D It's a deposit guys, a contract to receive the goods when paid in full. Basically the Hobby Shop made a promise to deliver the truck when the other half is paid for. Be carefull out there guys, if it is too good to be true it probably is!!!

This vehicle is now in stock and available for SALE at www.nitrohouse.com.

I am not an employee of nor owner of OFNA nor Nitrohouse - just a bunch of peeps were dying to get their mits on this new trug when it came in. OFNA typically gets 100 or less units via airmail before the cargo container arrives. This batch wont last long.

$399.95 or somethign like that ...

correct me if I'm wrong, but this is basically a Ravager/Violater in truggy form, right?

socalBash
06-28-2006, 08:16 PM
No - incorrect.

Widened chassis. Extended chassis. Different front shock tower. Blazer SST truggy gearing 15.47:1 .... 51T Spur / 12T CB / 13T Diff Pinion / 47T Diff Crown Gear. Jammin CRT Bumper, Jammin CRT Body, Jammin CRT Brake Discs, NEW Redesigned front Universals [too long for the ravager, will work in a violator or Blazer sst] Blazer sst / violator used cheezy chromed potmetal CVA's - these uni's are way better.

Gots some new tires we havent seen before also - wheels are wide offset DOMINATOR Maxx sized.
