this is my 3rd? that i have painted. i dont own an airbrush so all my bodies are raddle cans. instead of trying something new on this body, i did a lot of new things for me;
first time using liquid mask,
first time makeing my own window trim,
first time used white/orange,
first time using a carbon fiber sticker,
first time actually trying to color coordinate 2 colors.
any ways, heres the pics:
first step, 2 coats of Bob Divley liquid mask

then i drew my plans on the out side of the body on the over spray film

then i removes the mask on the flames, window trim, and bed and sprayed 4 coats of Sprint white

after removing the rest of the mask

Nice job, great color!!!!!!!!!1
***Here's some advice that I wish someone gave me when i first started painting; even though you sprayed three coats back it with white in order to get the color to be brighter or black to get the orange darker. When I first started painting I used a metalic blue for a skyline body, and after 1 can the body was still transparent. I didn't know that the paint needed to be backed by another color to get the different affects.
Good luck.

awesome job but always spray your darker colors first unless u back them in white to prevent them from bleeding threw on the other color!like resp said,i had to learn the hard way to!

Very nice photos and great step-by-step. Looks like none of your firsts gave you any problems. Good job!

thanks for all the comments! i know about darker colors first, but because of the liquid mask and cutting the contours of the body, it was easier to do white first. as for backing the orange with whte, after 4 coats, there was none left :( another thing i forgot to mentsion for firsts, this is also my first time painting a Pro-Line body, and MAN this body is thick. almost impassible to cut. well heres a picture of it trimmed and stickered, but not yet mounted. i still have to cut another piece of carbon fiber to do the top of the bed.

Looks good. Next time, try a pinstripe around the flame edge to make it stand out a bit more.

nice job! Liquid mask is your friend!!! nothing, and i mean nothing beats it for hitting that clean edge you always want. I think you did a great job, be proud. it looks very nice, and i like the orange/white combo.
Ron
i like how u cut the driver side window to make it look like its rolled down
