If it's priced correctly it's a definite maybe. Some people will like the little to no maintenance aspect of the motor. I'm one of those sick people who likes to fiddle around the innards of a motor trying to find the best spring, brush, rain dance combo on a full moon night to get maximum performance. Plus, I bought a lathe a couple of months ago so I need to justify the cost of that thing. ;)

I hope the prices on them drop like a blind roofer. I don't care if people enjoy spending hundreds on lathes and brushes et cetera, they can kiss their money good bye.
I don't, however, understand why the price is so high. A brushless motor is quite simple, and they've been around quite a while (what kind of motor do you think that fan in your computer uses?) I guess it's only high because it's new for RC cars.
Probably in 4 years I'll come back to the hobby, and if brushless mtoros are sellig for less than 100, I'll get back into it.

They will not be accepted in racing. Great for Emaxx and for sport use.

I think they will ROCK. I hope they end up as great as great as I know they can be. In a perfect world, they'd be accepted in the racing scene wholeheartedly, but IF they get approved, it'll be a long time before pros will race them.
Tim, why the heck are most racers against these things? Has Ernie brainwashed you, too?

There was some discussion about this earlier, I just hope that it comes out at a more reasonable price that what is currently available from GM Racing and others. It could do well in the backyard bashing market 'cause who backyard bashes and really wants to worry about their brushes and comm wearing out?

I'm sure they won't be accepted in racing now, but somewhere down the road when they become cheaper and more common. 3000MAH batteries weren't accepted right away in racing either.

I think they're cool.
I think they'll rock our world.
I think I want one.
I think they'll make my car real fast.
I think Trinity will have to work real hard to keep their market share of the RC motor market.

I think they will be accepted for racing. Like anything else people say can't be tuned, people will find a way to "hack" them and tune them. You will see the other motor makers enter that market. I can't wait for them to hit a reasonable price.
