I've been away from the hobby but am now looking to get back in, it's been almost 10 years. While researching around, I noticed a few things.

Excuse my ignorance, but what happened to Tekin? I've just checked their website and some e-tailers and they've lost nearly all their presence in the market. Back in the day it was Novak and Tekin, head to head. Now Tekin is almost gone.

I asked this question to awhile back and haven't got a definite answer yet. But the last I heard was they went out of business and others say they downsized ALOT.

ALL Tekin products are now listed and "discontinued" on Tower Hobbies' website.

Their website has had almost no updates in YEARS. Hobby shops are reporting that repair times are insane and sometimes simply get stuff back UNrepaired.

All indications are that they are dead or near death. The fact that there has been no public announcement of any kind does not help them any. I am sure that RCCA staff knows the answer, but for some reasons elects not to comment

... but who knows, maybe we get lucky ?

I sent my Rebel in twice, each within a week of eacghother. I sen it in March, and still havent gotten it back. My mom called them and called them, but no one answered. So she called the Calif attourney general and they talked to them and Tekin tried to say they alreafy sent it back, YEAH RIGHT!!!

i'll second that motion to call out for Stevie P and staff to proclaim the "true" status of Tekin... if the company is indeed dead... tell us... if it is indeed still alive, but in dire straights... tell us... if you don't know anything... then start finding out for us (isn't that your jobs, to report accurately on the RC world??)....

there are a lot of people in this hobby that still use and/or are thinking about buying Tekin products (if they can find them)... those that already own the product, will probably need it serviced sometime... those that are looking to buy new may want to shy away if the company won't be around 3 months from now... that makes information on the status of Tekin rather valuable to a lot of consumers....

PLEASE NOTE; The service department will be closed June 2001 for all repairs except valid warrantee work. Any other repairs sent to us during this time will be returned COD for shipping and handling charges.

This is what it says at the top of their Repairs page. It doesn't look good for Tekin.
