I have a traxxas rustler and just ordered a trinity chameleon pro motor. Anyone have one of these, how do they run. I have the traxxas XL-1 ESC which has a limit of 17 turns. I'm running stock gearing of 18/84, I ordered a 16 tooth pinion and a 20 tooth pinion with the motor, both robinson racing. The chameleon is 19 turns, will the XL-1 be able to handle the 20/84 gearing? anyone have experience with the XL-1 and chameleon?

All that I can say, is that 20/84 is a bit much, not only on your esc, but the motor also. The Trinity Chameleon is a great motor, they are super fast, and reliable. With my Rustler, I found that just playing around, you cannot beat 19/87 tooth gearing, when racing, I would use 17/87, but for playing, go with my first suggestion.

I have had a non pro Chameleon since April, and that motor has been rock solid. It was the motor I ran in my EMT, through endless hours of backyard bashing. I took it out about a month ago, cause I have been using a 17T speed gems in the EMT for parking lot racing. Well, my 17T is fried after about a month, and it was so bad in my last race I had to pull it out and put the Chameleon back in.
