Well, Sab and I went to the track today and I started running my RC, all was going fine and dandy i did 4 laps trying to warm up the engine and tires, well on the straight at the end of the 4th lap, the oddest thing happened, I turned onto the straight and accellerated quickly only to see the front end of my car drop and my front left wheel wobble insanely, I let off the throttle immediately and ran up to check it. As I walked to it, I was sure it was either a loose wheel (which I hoped for) or a broken a-arm ot axel carrier, something witht he wheel hub assembly.

Well it wasnt pretty, my front left jaco tire had cracked completely and the rim was shot. My race day was over since I never expected something like this to happen and didn't bring any extra tires, but I was lucky that it wasnt an expensive part just the wheel.

So now I am stuck with my ellegi's which I hate on that track for sunday, I guess I can go anyways and be Sab's pitboy :p .

So here's the part where you help me if you can.

Are Jacos nitorious for breaking? Or was this just a defective wheel that was about to go and went?

Should I chage to a new company? and if so which and where can I find the cheapest prices?
I like Jacos there cause they grip well and I can get them for $7.50 a pair

any company names would be good and prices would be great

and BTW here's what the tires ended up looking like.
I have a video of Sab warming up on the track and I'll post it later.

Dude, thats some serious isht how your tire just spontaniously shattered like that. I don't know much about 1/8th on road tires, so I can't tell you if thats normal or not. But after an expirience like that I would probably not buy them anymore.

its a 1/10 touring car foam tire, not 1/8th

but yea im stumped too, I had a bit of negative camber on my car, but those tires should be made to handle the stress put on those tires at any setting.

and it couldn't be the power/grip combo, cause those tires were cold, and my nova rossi wasn't tuned or running at racing temps

what's odd is I have been to that track maybe 15 times and im at maybe 12/15 times that i came back without 1 broken part, thats why I think it's cursed, maybe it was built on an ancient cemetery :D

anyways anyone ever heard of these companies, and if so what do you think?

Cheeta Club
Xpress
SATO
Fast Tires
Power Typers

I know about TRC, HPI,and Parma, but the only place I know has them is towerhobbes and they sell for almost $20 or over $20 a pair.

Oh, for some reason I thought they raced 8th scale on road at that track :o Sometimes wierd things happen in this hobby.

4DM- We do run 8th there. Last time I did recall a guy running 8th onroad crack the whole tire in half, but the tires were warped pretty badly. Some tire rims are just softer than others so they can break like that whether it's 8th or sedan. You wouldn't really see that happen to pan car tires though I think.

That sucks and thats good, i like jaco since they have a lifetime warrenty if there rim cracks you can return it. and BAM they send you new ones.
