I feel like grit would stick to a nitro vehicle more due to the nitro gunk/residue that tends to coat things. However, I've never seen a nitro run in sand personally so I don't know how much of a problem it would be.

I run both my electric and niro in the sand, a point I will make is no matter what the rc is a good teardown and cleaning is called for after running in the sand. I prefer nitro, just fuel and go. No changing bats part way through the bashing.
