Traxxas esc i have a ??? about it

I am wanting to get an RTR epede with esc.Are traxxas esc any good.I heard even witht the stock stinger motor thay get realy hot. :confused:

I have three XL-1 speed controls and they are OK, but they do not have a brake function. They have a 17 turn limit also, but you can put in a 16 turn if you change the stock gearing. I have done this on my Rustler since I run a 16 Turn SpeedGems Ruby motor. I geared the truck down and the ESC doesn't get hot at all.

i have heard with the stock gearing and stock motor it gets really hot.

Mine still works and i've had it for about a year. They only thing that "messed up" was that it stopped going in reverse. So I had no breaks or reverse. I just decided to get a different one.

it should not get hot my friend has one and his is fine.
