I'm a newbie when it comes to electrics. I'm buying a used xx-cr buggy from a guy and it has a P2k pro in it. I'd like to be able to use mod motors in the future so I'm wondering what you think is the best esc for around $100 that can handle mod motors.

I'd prefer it didn't have reverse.

Thanks!

I have a Novak Dually and I love it.

I gotta agree with these guys here, the Novak Dually is a super-cool ESC, a rather large footprint, but it should fit in your car just fine. I have the Fusion, it is okay, but when i use hotter mods(well, just one, a 13x4)It REALLY gives it a workout, so your best bet would be the Dually.

Don't listen to all of this nonsense and go to ebay. Search for a Novak Cyclone (purple edition) and bid on it. You can get one for $80 or less used, but in AWSEOME condition, and this ESC will smoke all these ESC's these guys are saying.

If you dont want to go this route and have to have the thing new (I wouldn't though, Cyclones ROCK) then I would go with the dually. Remember the dually is a pretty big case though.

Just my 2 cents.... :D

Geez, no ones likes LRP or Keyence? Well, I guess I'll be looking for either a dually or a cyclone. Thanks guys!

If you are looking for cyclone, then try LRP V7.1.

I have a Hitec hfx esc. It goes down to 12 turns and does not have reverse. It is also very small. Just another suggestion.....

Oh yeah, it's about 65$ (the Hitec)

No problem with a V7.1. That would be my next choice next to cyclones, I just prefer cyclones. If you can find a v7.1 for your price range and the novak cyclone isnt what you want, then by all means go with the LRP! It doesnt really matter, I just like the novak features a little more.

I would check out LRP's new Quatum series.

The Novak Cyclone C2 is $140 at tower hobbies... much like the same as the LRP V7.1... but i'd prefer the C2... also... anyone got info on the LRP Quantum series?

There's a write-up on the quantums in the new RCCA sept. issue. Too bad they're almost $200

I would go with the C2 over the 7.1 also. I have seen it as low as $134 brand new if you shop around.

The Novak Fusion is nice. I have it now and it is small, powerful, and cheap (~$65) and race legal. No option for reverse though.

for89.95$ you could get a novak dually. it can handle any motor. It has two profiles, stock(more punch), and modified(smoothes out the discrete steps) it is aq racing esc obviously.

200 bucks for a quatum???? Which one???? There are like 7 different kinds. It's a series of ESCs. 3 have reverse. 3 are forward only. And 1 is the ultimate competition model. Where did u guys see them for sale at???

I do not know why people are so interested about Quantum ESC.
The only reason probably is Quantum is a new stuff(and compact).
I like the V7.1 much more.
When you check specifications about V7.1 and Quantum, you will see which one is better.
