I'm just a little courious because it is only $21. If you have used it I have two questions about it because Orion's web site says very little about it.
#1 How well dose it work; dose it over discharge battry, or get itself too hot or the battery?
#2 What is its discharge rate?

You should use something with a higher amp rate like a 20 amp light bulb discharger. 1 amp just takes way too long if youre racing, unless you have lots of battery packs.

The discharge rate is very low, less than 1 amp. It is designed to take the battery down to a safe level of discharge so that the battery will not retain memeory while preventing cell reversal. It is also good for discharging receiver battery packs.

I have one of these. It does a fine job but TC is right, it takes forever to discharge. Basically, if I run a race, then use it to discharge, it takes overnight to discharge a pack! I charge everything up on Saturday to race on Sunday then spend the next week discharging.
