View Full Version : Mixing Shock Oils?

I was at my local hobby shop today and he had no 55 weight shock oil. He said that if you buy 50wt and 60wt and mix the two equally together, you will get 55wt. Is this true? Never heard of it before.
I see on some set-up sheets people say they use half 10000wt and half 25000wt diff oil in their diffs wouldn't that make 17500wt???

you can mix silicone oils yes...I really dont like to do it because eventually they will begin to settle out inside your shocks. as in the 50 on top and the 60 on bottom.

If you must mix your own, mix them using a little bit of heat such as a hair-dryer. that will make it a little smoother.
