First time 12 racer

This is my first race in 12 scale whith 4 cell.Do I need a 4 batteries to the radio?
I race whith 2400 bateeries and a stock motor,I dont no how many times.Thank for your time :D

4 cell stock? Are you sure? Around here, guys race in the same class with either 4 cell mod or 6 cell stock (yes, in the same class).

When running 4 cells, yes, you will have to use a receiver pack. 4 or 5 cells will be fine, but a small 5 cell pack is preferred.

Not neccessarily. If your ESC is designed to do it, then you will not need a reciever pack. Novak's Atom & Cyclone are a couple of examples that can run on 4-7 cells(some as high as 10) without the need for reciever batteries. In fact, because I had an extra Cyclone, that's what I run in my Associated 12L3, though I would like to pick up an Atom in the future to save the weight..... :)
