The motor shaft on the Mamba is 2mm. The stock Vendetta motor shaft is 2.3mm. You'll have to find pinions in the right size or adapt the stock pinions to fit the smaller Mamba shaft using some kind of bushing.

I'm using a Mamba 25 esc, but running a 3500 Cool Red BL motor (heli motor) but its the right size shaft and uses stock pinions running stock gearing. Haven't read of anyone using higher than a 4700kv motor.

Radio Shack X Mods are supposed to be 2mm pinions.

you can use a Mamba system in the Detta..... but it's not a perfect fit because of the pinion issue....

bolt up pattern for the motor itself is not a problem...

if you install a Mamba motor, you'll need the Duratrax 13 tooth 48 metric pitch pinion (not stock), and some K & S brass tubing to mate the larger bore of the Duratrax pinion to output shaft of the Mamba motor.... you'll need to make sure and run a 13 tooth pinion to ensure no cogging, and also try updated software in the Mamba speedo (v 1.02 or higher).... you'll also need to run good batteries- IB1200 ni-mh's or Apogee Li-po's 800 mah or higher.... doing these things, and the 5400 and 6800 motors just flat out rip in a Detta...

thanks for the replies guys, but can I only install a pinion desingned for a mini t or something like that? men.. I just need I ride to put this sick motor.. because the idea was to install the mamba in my MLST, but I have hear horrible stories of the mamba in the mini LST, motors getting cook because the mamba dont have enought power for the mlst, or that it will destroy the diff.. etc etc.

BTW: what does cogging mean?

Cogging is a stuttering motion like power is turned on then off repeatedly. It happens when you start from a dead stop. With good batteries and proper gearing cogging usually doesn't happen.

Be sure to upgrade the software in the Mamba 25 esc with the latest version from their site. The laterst version is less susceptible to cogging.

those will be a little weak for the mamba.. you will have alot of cogging in the motor.

oh, and what would be a better battery to handle a mamba?

Team Scream IB-1200, or IB-1400's....... if lipo.... Apogee 10.5C 830, or 1050's, or best- Apogee 20C 800, 1200, or 1500's....

i've never heard of SMS.... did you mean SMC?? if so, if it is a pack constructed out of IB-1200's it will work....
