A friend brought me an old tub chassis RC10T to put back together. I was almost finished and was puting the rear wheels on and I stripped what held it on. http://www.fototime.com/{392355DF-A265-4003-9654-A653EC3091D3**/picture.BMP That is the pic. It looks like a bolt but it is drilled and tapped in the middle to go over the axle, but it slips into the wheel. I broke it by overtightening it so this is the other one. Does anybody know where I can find this part? I looked on associated's web site at the manuals but I didn't see this part or anything that looked like its description. My friend does not have the manual because he just bought it. It looks like it is a monster truck, it is raised considerably higher than normal. Any help would be deeply appreciated

If you can't find the part, then you can use a regular associated wheel nut. It is a standard sized nut. The ones from my T3 work great. I have 4 original RC10's and have actually never even seen the part you need. I bought mine used.

Yes the wheel is too wide for the axle. It has very wide rims and tires. I have never seen anything like this on anything. Also the hole in the wheel that the axle goes through is too big for it so it acts like an axle nut and spacer so it fits correctly. I appreciate your replies.

tbass2, do you have a picture of the rim that you're using? It's sounding like it's not the correct rim for the RC10T.
That looks like an adaptor from an OLD JG rc10 truck conversion...
sorry dude not going to find any of those any more...
it is an #8-32 nut for the rear but you will need new rims off an Authentic RC10T
AE should still make them in
-Rear one piece
or
-Rear three piece (no glue needed but heaver)
standard 2.2" dia.
Part #'s
#7800 is a 3pc white (add "B" for black add "Y" for yellow...)
#7802 is a 1pc white...(etc).
If fronts you WILL need an axle nut & new bearings...3/16" x 3/8"
# 7840 3pc rim
#7842 1pc
I've been in the hobby too long!!!

I might be mistaken here, but isn't that an axle extender? What kind of wheel are you putting on it? If you're having to use that piece, then the rim you're using must be too wide for the axle. My RC10T only takes a standard 8/32 nut for the rear wheel.

Does that mean I should just give up? Are you sure that no other RC truck would have something like this on it? If not, hmmmmm, the wheels are a lime green color and I don't wanna replace the rims if possible I just want the wheel nut. Also what kind of conversion was it? A monster truck conversion perhaps?

You could try making one, just get a nut and some tube steel/alum. Solder or braze the nut to the tube and thread the tube........
EASY :D

tbass2, you should still be able to find rims for it. I just bought some new rims at a LHS 2 months ago for my RC10T. Check www.rc10.com (http://www.rc10.com) and you might be able to get the rim directly from associated. RPM should also make rims that will fit the RC10T. Let me know if you have any more questions.

BryanO could you possibly send me that wheel bolt? If you want I could pay you, that is if you still have one (or two). Send me a pm and lets talk.
you will not be able to find a nut like that with out some luck...or knowing a machinest...I would try a very light coating on the inside of the nut with JB Weld let sit and dry overnight, then get a #8-32 tap. Be carefull cutting new threads into the nut DON'T break the tap off!
If you arent comfortable with it ask some one who has done work with this type of stuff.
It wont be as strong but should work, what do you have to loose????try it
It is a JG Mfg. RC10 Truck conversion, I think they went out in the early 90's
the thought that that other guy is a good one but WON'T work...
the threaded part is in the narrow tapered area.
The rims need a LONG axle that nut makes up for the RC10's shorter axle...
AE designed rims to bolt directly on to the RC10 in the mid 90's and released the RC10T
they also changed a lot of other parts too so verry little is interchangeable with a "T"
sorry about the Green rims...
the AE yellow wouldnt look so bad with the fronts...
