I now and also concidering a kyosho st sport ep ( or something like that ) and i am wondering what is the best for me to get , they are about the same price and are rtr which is what i am looking for . remember i only want it for around the house driving fun , and maybe take it to a track just to see . i am kinda new at this sort of stuff . so if you have anymore suggegstions on cars and such please tell me .

I would suggest going with the Rustler . That was my first car and I still have it now ! It ' s a fun truck just to take out and play around with . Plus most hobby shops have a much easier time getting parts for Traxxas cars than Kyosho . Plus it is pretty popular and many hop - ups are made for it . RPM makes quite a bit , and MIP has CVD ' s for it . Pro - Line makes bodies , wheels , and tires that for it .
Trust me . It ' s a nice truck to get started with . Easy to work with , fun to drive , and fun to hop - up later on if you choose to .

Just my 2 cents worth ...
If you can get Nitro , and DONT plan to race . GET A T - MAXX , you will not be disappointed .

Yeah , I agree with Chazman . The electric Rustler is a great first off road truck . Read the review in the August issue of RCCA and yo will see that the Sport version of the Kyosho Ultima EP is kinda funky . Especially since you can ' t use after market wheels . I have a Protrax Rustler which is a Traxxas Rustler only that it is distributed by Horizon Hobby and comes with an electronic speed control , chrome wheels and a five color painted body ( Traxxas Rustlers have a painted body now too ). I added full ball bearings , Losi springs , Traxxas Big bore shocks , a Neon Yellow RPM transmission cover and Proline tires . For a truck with the stock Traxxas Stinger 20T motor , the thing is pretty fast and fun to drive . I am planning on putting a 17T Trinity motor in it this Friday . They have them on sale at Hobby People for under $ 20 . 00 ! One word of warning though . I paid $ 219 . 00 for this Protrax truck ( the regular Traxxas Rustler is a lot cheaper but comes with a manual speed control , and plain white wheels ) and have now purchased a Nitro Rustler which I paid $ 279 . 00 for . The reason I want a faster motor in the electric Rustler is because now , compared to the Nitro Rustler , the electric one is pretty slow !!! Nitro has spoiled me .

Thanks for the tips and such , and since the last time i was on here like yesterday or something i think i might get a nitro rustler . but ppl always say like ... " i love my quake " or something like that but the stampede , quake , etc . dont look good for ramps or speed ( which is what i want ) the only look like good hill climbers to me . So if you can help me with that and also with how much money a rc car will dig into your pocket ( just when you get everything you need to run ) i will appriciate it !!!

If you want to jump seriously consider a T - Maxx or a Quake . A lot of money there though . A Nitro Rustler has a lot of speed and will jump pretty well . Mine jumps great . After you get it , replace the wheel bushings with bearings and maybe some stiffer springs and heavier shock oil if you will be doing a lot of jumping . The Nitro Rustler is fast and a real blast to drive . Great for a beginner too . After you get the Nitro , somehow electrics just won ' t cut it anymore .

Exactly my point chucksolo . the T - Maxx will do about 30 - 35 mph . FAST for that size of a truck . With a little playing of the throttle while the truck is in the air , it can take a huge jump and land shiny - side - up every time .

[ b ] chucksolo :[/ b ] I love it . Isnt that much bad about it , i wonder why everyone gives it a bad rap . The only thing I didnt like was that the stock engine sucked . I ended up getting a HPI . 15fe for it and it runs like a spotted ape . ( Little bit of Jeff Foxworthy http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif ) I put berings in it , DuraTrax tuned pipe , new clutch shoes , steel spur , and some street tires . I love it .

hmmm , that guy neva seizes to humor me .... ahhh the foxworthys ... yeah i am def . thinking about my future car being a nitro rustler . I am making my own track if ya wanna go to meigs county oh . to drive it and the thing is is that i am ganna make it , test it , get my friends two cents and have local racers come and see if they like and and have like a two dollor entry fee and a 2dollor racing fee and pay like 10 to win ( if there is 5 ppl ) 5 for second 3 to third and 2 for forth . ( and the loser a chance to try next time !) i know it sounds kinda lame but i hope it isnt ... circle track with ramps and woops on strait aways ! oh well .........

Hey Freek ( thats the only time i will say that in a nice way http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif ) Why dont you charge 2 . 50 entrace fee , the winner gets half , you keep the other half . Sound kewl ?

Your idea sounds great Freek . Greg idea is right on too . Too bad you live in OH , kida far from So Cal . Get the Rustler and put bearings in it . The speed is awesome .

but then it would kinda be unfair because i would also race against them and collect entry money ...... but not everyone needs to know that ! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif well money aint look ' n too good right now ( well it is but not that i can spend on rc cars http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif ) even though i got enough money from gokarts it is put to savings . and it aint coming out ! so i think ill first get a electric rustler with the dirt hawg II tires from proline and the chevy silverado ( blue and gode with cool design ) that was featured in this last issue of rccar action ( july ). and maybe some bearings at first ! but would the r / c neon lights be good for an off road truck ?? just thought it wwould look cool for each kit being only 10 . 00 ! well gatta go ! oh yeah greg ... how old are you and i will be at cross lanes today !!!! ( friday ) at tyler mountain raceway racing my cart !!!!!
