I am looking for a CNC milling machine for cutting profile flyer parts out of foam. I am going to be doing this on a large scale (starting my own kitting company).
Does anyone have any suggestions on a particular machine or maybe even an alternate method?
I have looked at outsourcing the cutting but it is cost prohibitive.

We made a small production run of P-38 foamies. We made templates and cut them by hand. Pretty much killed the profit margin, since we probably worked for 7 cents an hour. :) But it was fun, and we sold enough to buy some equipment we wanted for our shop.

do you still have the equipment? is it 2,3 or 4 axis milling. Is your shop capable to cut 18'' foam parts from cad files? Thank you, Tim

It all depends on your budget. You could also Laser or waterjet. Hot wire is an option. How complex is the plane. and the most important question is do you have cad data. I have a CNC router and it cuts anything I have CAD data for.
