Hi All.

coukld someone tell me if a power supply can be responsible for false peaking. I suspect that the voltage is not consistent although this is a 10A supply. I'm using a swallow charger and charge at 4 amps. I'm getting false peaks.

When I put the charger on my car battery I have no problem, WHY.....

Please help

Which powersupply are you using? If it's unregulated, it might cause problems.

Yes, a power supply can cause false peaking. It can be a few different things, and usually occurs with a cheaper power supply.

As both guys mentioned, the possible cause could be the power supply.
With some power supplies the actual output of amps may fall below the advertised rate and also voltage output may below the range needed. Spikes can also cause some power supplies to shut down if it is not regulated or shielded.
Amperage may only be 8 - 9.5 under loads, while most DC chargers require between 11.5 to 14 volts max to operate. What is the output voltage of power supply????
