These new regulations will be aimed at improving the safety at events; according to our inside source, some of the new rules will include:
- People with hoodies will be randomly checked
- Use of nitro in fuel will be gradually limited in a 5 year plan. With the aim of reducing the dangers of nitro burn
- Come the 2008 season a ban on current conventional model fuel for racing will be in place; with the suggestion on using bio fuels for "the greener good"
- If need be at high profile events; IFMAR will decide with absolute discretion on possible safety risks - (i.e. not allowing some drivers to particpate because they would pose a risk, due to background or personality)
- IFMAR will also begin to build up a small security team for it's members at races.
The proposal is for these rules to be in place 1st April 2008.
