Ive just gotten in to electric r/c and i kinda know that the comm on a motor is. I only know that the brushes rub against it. Ive heard of a comm lathe, what does it do. And what does cutting your comm do? i would like to get some info on this if you wouldnt mind, thanx so much for any replies.

A comm lathe trues the commutator so it is perfectly round. When the comm is perfectly round the brushes contact it better. This makes the motor operate better and have better torque, efficiency etc. etc. You dont need a comm lathe unless your pretty serious about racing becuse they cost $100 +
