My friends Emaxx can't pull much. It usually porpoises under load and ends up on it's back.

You can prevent the ESC from over heating by changing the gearing, but even that helps hardly at all.

The Emaxx just wasn't designed to be atorque truck, it was mainly designed for speed.

You really cant pervent the esc from burning up. some of them were bad off the shelf. mine is running great after many runs. The e maxx Isnt set up for pulling in stock form, but a gearing change and some posy track diffs could change that. the stock titans have loads of power. with the stock gearing if you try o push something it will just opo over it and head on its was and if you try to pull something all the power will put the truck on it lid.

Both myself and neighbor are running Emaxx's.
From experience we have pulled 2 x 30lb 3year olds on a wagon. This is with stock setup other than a change of tires to the proline mashers. As for the ESC blowing up, this is, admittedly by Traxxas, a problem at the component level.

My Rc10B3 can pull kids in a wagon. It's got wheels and rolls easy.

Let me see them get pulled in a sled on concrete or even in the wagon on dirt or grass. Then I'll be impressed.

Heck I used my RS4 MT to pull a friend of mine on her rollerblades and she is 5'6" and weighs approx 115lbs. Then it pulled my buddy who's 6'3" and approx 240lbs.
