it might however even if a mod motor will fit you might have a problem with the eletronics, a r.s. car has somthing like a 340 motor the size, voltage and power are different. you might want to try a cheap 540 first to make sure that it doesn't tear the plastic gears apart or burn the electronics up.....

not very many of them all radio shack cars have mechanical speed control and a radio distance that basicly you must be 5 feet away from them i have some tycos and radio shacks before i got good stuff there as fast as a turtle but as easy to control as puppet

sorry man, R.S. cars donīt handle the amp draw of mod motors, donīt waste your money, better yet, buy a hobby R/C car.

You might be able to replace the electronics to handle the motor, but the gears will probably ingest themselves with a mod motor...

Bad idea. You would be much better off getting an old used RC car to play with instead of wasting money trying to fix up a Radio Shack car to go fast. It just won't work. Check out local hobby stores for used ones, classified hobby adds, builitin boards,
& local race tracks. This site has a "For Sale" listing with many good older cars & trucks available that are great bargains for non competitive play. Just my $.02
