I have a T3 with a monster stock pro with GP 3300 cells making about 24-26 mph 20t pinion. I have a B3 with a 12 T double speed gems with IB 3800 making right at 40-42 mph 18t pinion. Maybe your motor is ready for a turning on the lathe and maybe new brushes.

yeah, it needs new brushes but last year when i first got it it got no higher than 25
it's prbably my batteries, im just using some 1500 nicd batteried, which im planning to upgrade to maxamps 4k packs, that would probably make a big difference, hugh?

The motor or the battery is screwed up cause that motor made my friend's stampede and b4 fly.

A stock motor should get you in the 30-35mph range but it depends where you are running it and how good the electronics are (esc, battery pack, motor condition). Another thing that helps it finding the gearing range that suits the motor you are using. Since you didn't mention the spur size which is probaby the 81 that comes with most Associated kits that could affect motor ability some plus the 21 tooth might be the wrong gearing depending on where you are running the vehicle.
For bashing you might get by running a larger pinion, while in a race setup the pinion is usually smaller depending on track size with some using a larger spur.

We usually run about 15- 20 batteries and then we cut the comms some people do it religiously at 5-10 but by 20 runs the motor is usually spent and ready for a comm cut and brushes. buy some of the radio shack GP 3300's they will be the most for your money if your not looking to invest alot in batteries. and take care of them properly remember they are the backbone of your equipment .no juice no go!!!!

is there any performance difference between
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHXU5&P=7
and

i know that the 3800's will last longer, but is there ant performance difference?
and why are there so many different variations of price in assembled 3800's??

in reality maybe a little punch difference if any difference. If your racing go with a matched pack there is almost always a little more performance out of matched packs. But if your just bashin with it go with the 3800 and look on ebay you may find them a little cheaper. If your going to continue running a mod motor use the 3800 . but with the performance your getting out of your current motor I think I would invest in a couple of GP 3300's from radio shack . I think they are like $24.99 each and you wont have to pay shipping costs and buy a monster stock pro or a CO27 pro both by trinity youll get better performance out of that combo than your current. Do go and buy the cheapo cells you see on the bay I bought 24 of them to try and they run long they just have absolutely no punch and top speed is way down too. Like I said if I were in your shoes radio shack is the place for the GP 3300 batteries. I dont know how your funds are but that is the cheapest way I can suggest. Peace, SK

now i found ib4200's for 39, i think i'll grab 2 of those
i'll probably use this motor and once i get my savage x i'll upgrade so that i still drive the truck
i have a lot of $, but don't want to blow it all on batt's and a charger
ill spend up to about $40 a pack and then ill find a pulse charger on ebay for like $20
thanks for the help everyone!!

Hey bro if your going to use that motor I suggest you find someone with a comm lathe or take it to your LHS and see if you can get it turned for a couple of $$ and put new brushes in it make sure to clean it well with cleaner after the cut and lightly oil the bearings. this will also take a load off of your spd control and your batteries. I have a friend that turns all of my arms for about .50 each it takes about 2 min. til i get my own and it really helps out . and will make a huge difference it like your motor will come alive and be all new again, Peace, SK
