Does anyone have these? How good do they perform? Is durability good? Any help appreciated.

okay bro here is the down low on the Rebel. I have one that I play around with, I wouldn't use it for serious racing or anything, but it works great for playing around in the yard or street with. It puts power out smooth, but you can slightly notice the steps in the power. It stays cool when running stock, and I would stick around a mild mod motor 15+ turns. The ESC has some question about its motor limit, and some say 11, Tekin says 11, and then later in the manual it says 14 I believe. Then still some say 15. I have only run a 15 turn motor with it and it worked great. If you want to go any lower than that I can't really tell you if it would handle it, but as for stock and mild mod it works really well. the wiring on it can be a little tricky to mount it, but I stood mine on its side in my tc3 and it stays in place and cool. If you are on a tight budget and want a nice esc for the money I would say go for it.

ps the reverse lockout feature makes it race legal and I think in a stock class for a local track you could make a respectable showing. Just dont' expect it to stay up there with an LRP 7.1 or a Novak cyclone unless they are running 1500 stick packs and a never cared for stock motor.

oh yeah, and I do believe that Tekin went out of business. someone clarify. I haven't had a problem with mine though, and don't find a problem in them going under.

I have one. I like it alot. easy to set and works well. I've run it with duel motors and it stayed cool. Tekin has kinda gone down the drain or so I've heard so maybe you should think about an ESC from novak or anouther company just incase you have problems

Hi Destrega...

When I first got into RC I bought a Tamiya WRC Subaru Impreza. The LHC I was at suggested the Rebel and a nice mild stock motor. It ran perfectly ....cool, good power transfer, etc. I bought a 12x2 mod motor (cuz isn't that what we all do) and it stll never heated up and the car went like a bat out of H***.

All this being said, I would now move up to a Novak or some other that has all the goodies.

just my humble opinion... ;)

Thanks alot you guys, its just it seems like a better deal than a novak rooster as far as price/performance ratio is. On the tekin website they say you can take it down to 10 turns even less! But they don't recomend anything lower than 10 turns.
Anyways i'll be using it in light mod/stock motors anyways so i probably won't even go as low as 10 turns.
Anyone know what the frequency of it is?

I have had one, 2 actually, I ran it in my Rustler, with a D4 14x4, and the thing was crap, well, i should not phrase it that way. The experience that i had with it was not a good one, i burned it up 2 times, that is why i have had 2 of them. The first time it went, it was for no legitimate reason, the second time was my fault, reverse to forward to fast, and it let go on me. I have now gotten a Novak Fusion, which IMHO is much more superior to the Tekin, it is smoother with power delivery, and not once has warmed up on me(whereas the Tekin did just slightly). My fusion is a forward only ESC, but there is another one that has the same specs + reverse, called the Reactor, and it is the one that i suggest to you. It is smaller, and easier to Program, plus i am positive that it will do better than the Rebel.

If you have any more questions, please ask away

hmmm. now i'm getting contradicting reports....
i looked into the reactor, the price is definitly higher than the rebel, but it also stands behind novak, which is a big contender.
