Motor just cuts out?

I have an older RS4. It runs great, but if I stop it abruptly, the car won't go again. If I turn it off, then wait awhile, and turn it back on, everything seems normal, but it will cut out again on me after a few minutes of running. I know it is wired up correctly, and my batteries are always fresh. Once the motor quites, the light on my ESC stays lit, and I can move the wheels and stuff, so I don't know what it could be? Could someone please give me a little help?

Since it is an older car, it is most likely an older motor that you have in there, and it sounds like your brushes are no longer reaching the comm. You need to replace the brushes, and/or cut the comm, if it is a sealed endbell motor, then pretty much all you can do is replace the brushes, unless you know someone who has a "Stock" lathe.

Like Steve-O said, get your comm cut, replace the brushes, and think about replacing the springs (this isn't needed very often).
