My nose hurts!

I had an operation carried out yesterday to straighten out my crooked nasal diaphragm and it hurts like a million hippos are playing dodgeball inside my nostrils. The results better be worth the hassle!

Thanks for the get wells. There won't be much difference before and after, it's the insides they rearranged.
I got the diaper/sling removed yesterday and now I only have the stitches and silicone left. They'll be going on Tuesday.

I once had a girlfriend that allowed me to touch her nose, but her nose wasn't special.

I have run into a few girls that had noses I really liked, but I never had the courage to say anything about it out of concern they would think I'm weird or something. The closest was one of them was looking at pictures of herself. She made a remark about her nose and I stepped up to the plate and told her that I thought her nose was beautiful. That's as far as it went. I didn't ask her if I could touch her nose.

If i offended i apologise.Having re-read what i posted earlier I can see that this could offend. looking at what i wrote, ex post facto, i understand that the humour i was trying to convey, does not emerge. That is a failure on my part.

Indeed nasal surgery is nasty and not to be degraded. I have had half my jaw blown away, broken my cheekbone resulting in nerve damage & fractured my eye socket resulting in titanium work on my face- so i should have known better.

Again i apologise for being unsensitive and for offending people. As a point of interest im not a nose pervert either.

'crannies'. Dont understand. Psychotic yes. Survival rate is one in ten, same as testicular cancer.

Anyway its been a heavy day

You know when you start sneezing just can't stop for a while? Well, it wasn't fun!

In less than 12 hours my nose will be free of all foreign objects. I'll let you guys know if my intake mods yielded any results :D

btw & this might sound strange. But close your left nostril and blow through your right nostril (when healed). Then close your right nostril and blow.

If, and again i apologise for being curt, your right nostril blows 'better' than your left then you could have a problem.

My left sinus is 'blocked' and when i speak i sound strange. IF your sinus are both ok,no worries. For sure sounds strange, but my sinus problems have led to imbalance,like headbuting curbs etc.

This probably does'nt make any sense, unless of course you have cheakbone/sinus problems

Yikes, this thread took a hard left in a hurry.

Why did you have this operation done? I'm just curious as to what would warrant such procedure. I'd probably never stand such pain. I'd probably have to have one of my buddies knock me out cold for a few days.

Actually, I'm have mononucleosis right now and my tonsils are HUGE! Sleeping is hell. My nasal passage is stuffy so I have to breath through my mouth but it hurts like heck because of my inflamed tonsils.

That was my problem. I SMASHED my nose a number of times and the cartilage bonded crooked shutting my left nostril almost completely. Weirdly, my right nostril is allergic to dust (just my right nostril!) and it swells up and I was left noseless.

My ENT broke and cut my cartilage diaphragm to set it right. It can only get better and it's really not that hard of an operation. Probably a 2.8 in a 1-10 scale.

Just one more night to go through. YAY! :D :D

I got the silicone and stitches out today, and the results are definitely worth the hassle!
My nose is still a bit swollen and tender, but air glides effortlessly.
It's like night and day, pre-op and post-op.

I don't like one thing, and that's the slight hump ny nose seems to have grown near its end... Let's hope it goes down with the swelling.
