I WAS WONDERING WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CELL PACK OF BATTERIES AND A MATCHED PACK>

first of a matched pack is tested and then put with other batterys of simualar or same carectoristics and umatched is not tested matched are way better because they dont fight them selfs because if a battery is puting out 1.12 volts and an other 1.15 volts the other 1.15 will be stressed because the line has 1.12 and when it pushes it will flow in and cause more heat and wear to the battery pack

newbe,
Just one thing..all battary packs are made up of cells...there are matched and unmatched packs...not cell packs because all batts are made of 6 or 7 cells... :)

It has to do with how a pack charges & discharges at the two voltage extremes. Example: When you charge an unmatched pack the 1st time, the overall charge of the entire pack may reach a maximum voltage before some of the cells reach their maximum capacity. The same thing happens when you discharge a pack. If you were to discharge an unmatched pack all the way down to 0 volts, the cell that reach's 0 first will go into a reverse polarity ( + becomes -, - becomes +) This is not ideal, & is why it is normally not recomended to go below 4 1/2 volts or so when you discharge. You just get better performance & durability with a matched pack. ;)
Where ya been krazie? :)
