Can a 1/12th scale converted to use a 370 size motor and 6 cell 2/3 A battery be faster than the normal 540 size, 4 Cell?

The reason I post this is that after seeing 1/12 scales race, and RC18T's dressed up in latemodel bodies running oval I thought it would be grand to toss in the Mamba or Rage into a 1/12 pan car. Pretty much the same motor setup and battery selection as found in 1/18 scale and those babies can fly when moded.

Pros to converting to 370 motors and 6 cell 2/3 A
370 motor and 6 cell 2/3A will weigh less than 540 and 4 Cell setup.
Less Motor Pod material needed, less mass.
6 cells have less radio problems since the elctronics are not straving under hard accelleration.
It will be getting back to the roots of racing, 1400mah 6 cells

No need to worry about all that modification when you can just do like Gordonfreeman, check out what he has done wo his 1/12..

The setup may not be as fast as even a 4cell modified equipped car. Batteries may not have the voltage output as some Subc cells. The way 4cell racers remedy the voltage problem is to install receiver packs made from 3/4AAA cells 120 or 180 MA.

I still race pan cars, in 6cell form the cars were ballastic, hairy and almost on the edge of being controlled and uncontrollable especially 12th scale mod.
With the improvements to equipment, especially batteries and racers finding that extra margin in tuning, cars are almost running almost the same lap times they did in 6cell format.

Well, 6 Sub-C batteries would be uncontrollable, but Im wanting to use 6 2/3 A batteries. A 370 motor and 2/3A pack will weigh about the same as the stock 540 motor.

The 2/3 A batteries are limited to about 10amps max, and the motors are wound to pull up to that. A 540 stock motor pulls 6 amps just at free spin.

I did some looking around I found a maker that might be willing to make several chassis cut for 2/3 A cells and a new motor plate to fit the 370 motors. The more interested, the lower the individual cost.
