Hello, I just put a order in for a Losi XXCR. This will be my first kit. What I would like to know is what do I need to make it run? Mainly what motor, esc and gearing do i need? I want to go fast, run time is not all that important. Thanks Jared :p

will you be racing, or just bashing in the yard? or on the street? grass or dirt? what kind of budget do you have?

This kit is just for fun. I want to make it fast. But have no plans to race. The cost is not that big of thing. Thanks

a reversing speed control (super rooster)
a low wind machine mod (pick any)
and a couple of 3000 NiMH packs :)

WhoKnowsWho's advice is good, except in my opinion I would go with the 2400 Sanyo nicad batts. It takes a special charger to charge the NMH batts & many have trouble charging them due to a lot of false peaks etc. The 2400's will last for many years, with good performance, with a little discharging care.
Just get a cheap discharger that will bring the pack's down to 4 1/2 volts or so. With the NMH batts it's pretty much use them of lose them. They will go bad from age whether you use them or not. This is of course just my opinion.

What do you think of the Trinity D4 Modified Motor 9-Turn Triple? Would this be a good choice? Thanks

Now I know why you call yourself MadMax!
I would highly recomend going with a milder mod motor to start with. That 9 turn motor will need to have the com cut every four or five runs( battery packs). Unless you have had a lot of experience driving a buggy you will probably trash your car in a hurry. Try something in the mid teens to start with... it'll be plenty fast.

Thanks for the tip Railman. Maybe you are right. Mid teens might be a good start. But one question for you. What do you meen by having to cut the com every four or five runs? Thanks
