I would suggest 2400's because they have more punch then 3000"s I hear. You will only need 5 minutes runtime so the 2400's should be a little faster but not have as much runtime. You might be able to get by with 2000's if you are running stock but I wouldn't suggest it.

Get the FACTORY TEAM i have it and i use a Lynx 3D, Hitec Servo, DCX dual conversion Recxiver, Novac Reactor ESC, and a Fantom Pro-Tuned 16x3. the factory team will finish you ahead of the pack... if you can drive well that is...

The Factory Team edition will not make you faster. It will not make anyone faster. The only thing it adds are durability and coolness. The coolness comes from the blue parts, which are easier to look at than the black parts. The durability comes from graphite and titanium, which will not bend as much as their composite and steel counterparts.

If you can afford the extra $40, however, I would definitely suggest getting the Factory Team. You'll end up upgrading a couple of those parts anyway.

SORRY I did not maen to imply it would make you go faster, i ment it would be more durable to beating, bumps, crashes, jumps, hard landings, ect. I also ment it would keep you racing to the finish line, not to the pits.

wouldn't the lightness of the factory team kit allow the kit to have better acceleration and braking? not to mention cornering better due to having the redirect less mass around the turn. or is the factory team kit about the same weight?

yea, but that difference isnt felt on an off-road track. And it all depends on who you are talking to. Me? I didnt notice when i put all carbon on my T3.

The Factory Team edition is definitely lighter, but in off-road, where there are a lot of inaccuracies and jumps and stuff, weight really doesn't play an major role (in fact, a heavier car has some advantages in big sweeping corners and jumps, while a lighter car has the advantage in tight turns and straights).

If he were asking whether to buy the Team TC3 of Factory Team TC3, I would definitely steer him toward the FT. But, since this is off-road, I'm letting him decide if he wants to spend the extra $40.

ok ill get thew factory team, since im only going to run stock class will these things be good enough?
Associated Factory Team B3 Buggy
Novak Explorer II
Futaba S3003 Standard Servo
DuraTrax IntelliPeak AC/DC Pulse Charger
Trinity P2K Copper Head Pro
2 Peak Performance RC2400 Powerflo Club Matched

and what pinion do i use for great acceleration?

Sounds great to me!

The Explorer II is awesome, 2400 mAH packs are great, and the P2K is the best choice for an off-road stocker. The servo is ok, it'll serve you fine for now. But where are you purchasing the equipment from? Try and see if they carry Cirrus servos (the CS-60BBMG in particular). It's around $20, which is a steal for a servo with ball bearings and metal gears.

What radio are you getting?

im purchasing from tower, the reason im going with AE is because my local hobby shop carries every part you would ever need if you broke down because they endorse them for the winter league.i have a futuba magnum jr.

Ok, Tower doesn't carry Cirrus. The S3003 will be fine.

As for the pinion, what kind of track will you be racing on? Is it a tight, technical track, or is it more open, with long straights? If it's tight, a 19-21 tooth pinion will probably work best, but if it's open with long straights, a 22-24 tooth pinion will probably be better suited because you'll need a higher speed.

Also, be sure to stop by the B3 thread in the Vehicles forum. It's pretty much dead right now, but I'm trying to bring some people into it so we can have a nice discussion.

ill be racing ona dirt oval with a northeast modified body, its a tiny track i dont think the car will ever reach full speed,so 19 tooth?

Obi112

Hmmmm... no experience with dirt ovals...

You said it's a tiny track, so I am assuming that when you get to the end of the straights, you have to slow down before entering the turn. If this is the case, then acceleration will be a huge benefit coming out the the corners (especially if you can't reach top speed). A 19 tooth pinion seems like a good choice to me. And if you aren't happy with it, it's only $3 for a different pinion.

Try Stormer Hobbies (http://www.stormerhobbies.com)

I have had better luck with them than Tower and I know most of the stuff, you are looking at is cheaper, not that Tower is not good and all, but I think Stormer is better. :D
