while reading a post about a jr ti decieded to dust mine off,and see what it can do,well it drove fine for the first few times, now it makes a horrible clacking noise,i took the tranny apart, scared i was stripping the gears, the gears were fine so i lubed the diff, now it still makes the noise and the diff wont stay tight.what could it possibly be? without the motor everything spins freely,no binding or the like, but when i sue the motor it makes the noise.the motor is just as old as the truck,it hasnt been run in at least five years.its an old point blank stock, the green one.

It prob. your motor. I mean 5 years is a long time to let something just collect dust. Try another motor, if it doesn't help on of these guys will help, but the motor is all i can think of.

Take the motor out again and then give it the trottle and see if the noise is coming from the motor. You should oil the bushings on that old stock motor.
If it only makes noises when installed check to see if the bolts are a bit too long causing the magnets in the motor to strike them.

I just remembered something else. Check to see if you have a small piece of dirt caught between some teeth on your spur gear. Sometimes this can make a terrible clanking noise.
