The other reason they are good is if you already have your radio set up in one car and you have another car you want to control with the same radio, just throw a Novak reciever in the second car and you'll be set. This and the size & weight difference are the benefits. You might get more range or clearer reception (less glitching), but that isn't the main source of value.

Correct, the aftermarket recievers are mainly there as a lower cost alternative, & good ones like The XXL are also very small & light. However, it won't do anything that your original reciever can't, but your original one could run as much as $90 by itself(I know the KO recievers do)..... http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

Right now I have a JR XR2 radio system. I have heard so many good things about Novak recievers. My question is what does a Novak reciever do that a JR Racing reciever doesnt. Does it give me better radio range and less glitches or what. I am really thinking of getting one. I am not talking about the NEW XXTRA reciever I am talking about the regular XXL AM reciever.

Losi,
As for the Novak XXL being better, I don't know about that. I think that the XXL is supposed to have fewer glitches, but I never noticed a problem with the XR3's receiver either. I think that the benefit comes from the size.

Unless of course you are using a dual conversion Transmitter and receiver. Then the XXL is out http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/frown.gif Boy I hope that Novak comes out with a Dual conversion Rx.
