Everyone says the lrp is the best but I se in all the big rc car races the cars with the novak esc win.
I just want to know what would you recommend (LRP or Novak). And if you recommend a brand which esc is best of that brand.

I use Novak... on some occasions i do use LRP... but what kinda esc you lookin for? Forward only or with Reverse?... I use Foward only escs... Cyclones i use mostly, a few Atoms, Fusions, and Explorers. I been using the little orange boxes for years  That's just my preferences ;)

As far as I know there is no rule on the type of Speed Control you use. In "spec" and "legends" they have retail price cap, but most places will allow you to use any ESC you like for stock racing.
The ESC you select should be based on what your needs are and past experiences. If this is your first ESC ask around your local tracks and hobby shops. See what people use. The more people that use the same stuff as you, the more help you will be able to get if you have any problems. Also look at the companie's reputation for service and support.

If you wanna spend about 50 get an Explorer 2, very good speed control. If you wanna go all out get a C2, Ive had both and they are incredibly radical :D

Hey when you said that you always see the winners using Novaks I think you should re-check your info. And as far as novaks and LRP's go they both make excelent speed controls and both have there good features such as the new LRP quantum's wont let in any dirt because they have no heat sinks to let in dirt around the transistors that is why I would seriously look at a quantum but If I was going to but a speed control right now and had 140$ then I would buy the C2.

As far as performance goes, I don't think the differences between LRP & Novak ESC's are enough to worry about, but Novak DOES have about the best customer service I've ever seen . They get the work done quick & proper, & I've never been disappointed(& I should say I've only needed their service on an occaision where I did something stupid, wasn't the ESC's fault). really, they do service about the way we try to do where I work(I'm an avionics technician for a company that has the big airlines for customers). In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if their turn time is even better than ours(we try to guarantee by 16 days). I'ev been using Novak ESC's for over 10 years, & I've ALWAYS gotten more than my money's worth..... :)

L R P
--Their new quantum models just came out so the prices on the IPC models should drop. If you look on ebay the IPC will probabally start being sold a lot by racers wanting the newest gear. And if you get a LRP you wont need one of thoes handheld programing things. http://www.plauder-smilies.de/spin3.gif

The C2 comes with THREE different programs, one for high traction, and two others i cant remeber. The pit wizard was made so that you can COMPLETELY customize the esc to your tracks needs. EVERYTHING is customizable! But you DONT need the pit wizaqrd to run the ESC, it is just a tuning option.

The guys at my track tried to convince me to get an LRP (when I was stepping up from my Dually), but I got a Novak C2 and I LOVE IT! It is SO sweet. If you want the best, get a C2. It has Stock, Mod, & Drag Brake (other settings are in between Stock & Mod) profiles. So far I see no need to program my C2 any further, besides adjusting drag brake strength, which can be done with a tiny screwdriver. GET A C2!
