I went with the TC3 Factory Team kit...the $90 difference between the factory and the team kit at Tower is a lot less than the cost of buying the team kit and purchasing the extra parts. IMO, the upgrade parts in the factory kit are well worth the additional $90.

I've setled on getting a factory team for 2 reasons:
1-As a reward for doing my exams in a week.
2-The cost of getting the threaded shocks, graphite set and assorted blue bits seperately will scare you if you work it out!

Thanks for the replies, that is the information I was fishing for.
According to Associated's comparison chart the only difference they show between the two is threaded shock bodies. I couldn't justify the cost just for that and 'pretty blue parts' (not that 'pretty blue parts' aren't nice).
I'll order the Factory.
Now, any recommendations for wheels/tires and a good body?
Also, is there a track closer to Torrance than SoCal or should I post that in regional? They used to race at a place called ABC pool supplies but I have been out of the hobby so long I doubt they still do.
Thanks again,
MS

get extra arms! also get brp's front and rear bumper as well as their nerf guards, you will thank yourself later. also if you want more durability then get alum hub and hub carriers (for the front, i have no clue what they are actually called).i have snapped the things that move the steering in the hub. but dont get alum arm mounts or that stuff, then you will just snap a billion arms. but the brp stuff should cut down on that.

Thanks stormperson,
I used to be a decent driver but I'm sure I'll be checking the walls til I get back in the swing.

Another thing I'd recommend is to be careful not to get aggressive driving it yet. When I switched to the TC3 & Yok's MR-4TC, I wasn't prepared for the way these things steer(I moved to these from the older Yok, the YR4-M2Pro), they are soo much more responsive, than my first runs with them had me clipping almost every inner barrier, because I'd been used to diving hard into corners, & that's not neccessary with these, the newer cars will practically read your mind...... http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

Tower has a $10 off coupon on their website which is the last proverbial straw between myself and a new TC3.
However, I need advice on which kit to buy. I am torn between the team and factory kits.
Are the extra parts in the factory kit enough to warrant the price or should I upgrade the team kit?
Thanks in advance,
MS

Grizzbob,
A car that will read my mind? I knew it was the car that lost all those races and not me!
I'll heed your advice, The last cars I raced were 1/10th pans. I bought a weapon a year ago to mess with but never put it on a track. Aggressive or not, I'm sure I'll be bouncing off walls and doing an occasional 'button jump'.
My apologies in advance to anyone else on the track with me.
Thanks,
MS
