Which charger is better?
I will be using the charger for receiver packs (5 cell flat sub-c), my Tx pack (8 cell aa), and the occasional stick pack.
I want to know if the BC112A would be any good too? I need something which will run off of a 12v sealed starter box battery, or even a car battery. A powersupply would be nice, but I wanna know what you guys think.
BTW: Yes, I know they are both overkill for the job, don't worry about that ;)

I'd get the Novak, mostly because Tekin appears to be in some trouble business wise (like going out of :)) and just the fact that I'm a BIG novak fan. As far as being run off of a car battery or a starter box, I'd have no idea.
I've had a Tekin for 3-4 years now and it's been fantastic. Unfortunately I've heard the same tale that they're going out of business. My next charger will definitely be a Novak.

Novak all the way.... not only do they produce a great product, but their customer service is second to NONE in the RC industry...
Tekin may or may not be in business anymore...
peace out.... :)
Novak can give you better assurance and confidence. If something really go bad, they will give you more support and services.

Ummmm you said 9 cell TX packs??? the Millennium can only handle up to 8.... and I think the tekin is the same way. But either way go with the novak.

I agree, I have one of each(& I love both), but it's true that noone services their products better than Novak, IMHO.As far as the difference in features, the advantage of the Millenium is its adjustable voltage threshold, makes it easy to set it to safely charge pretty much anything(the BC112's don't do that), though I do wish Novak would add a cold start function like the 112's have.... :)

What is voltage threshold?

That's what Novak uses to tell the Millenium how much voltage dop it will allow before it shuts the charge off. This is a good thing because with NiMh batteries today, we need to be able to adjust it, as they are much more sensitive to overcharging than NiCd batteries. So, turning down the voltage threshold makes the charger shut off earlier than it normally would, hopefully preventing NiMh's from being damaged. And for older NiCd packs, you can turn the threshold up(desensitizing it) to prevent the charger from false peaking if neccessary.... :)

Excellent deal, I paid $84.50 for a BC112A, the version of that charger that doesn't have a power supply...... :)
