I have heard of people submerge it in water or lighter fluid. I have also heard of people just running the motor half speed or putting it in a drill. What is the best way to break a motor in and how. Give it to me step by step please. Oh BTW they are all stock motors I will be breaking in. Also especially on submerging it in water please give me in depth detail. As much as possible. Thanks.

I've broken in many motors by submersion. It works great but seems weird. It kind of goes against everything you know about electricity.

What I've done is get a container with enough water in it to cover the motor with about four inches of water above it. This will reduce the splashing. Charge a four cell pack, put the motor in the water with the wires hanging out, then connect the batteries and hang on. You'll see a bunch of "crud" start to float around which is normal. After a few minutes, check the brushes for coloration just as if you were braking it in any other way. When the brushes are colored, you're done. Just make sure you spray the motor out good with motor cleaner and then oil the bushings or bearings.

That's what I do.

Good luck.

Hook a c cell duracell batterie to the motor, let it run all the way dead, clean with power shot and re oil the bearing or bushing. that will work the best without hurting the motor.

My tried breaking in a motor in water but fried it. I'm not sure if he had used a 6 cell pack but I wouldn't trust that method if I were doing it myself.
