Ok guys what was your best race or pass at a race? Mine was about a year ago.

I was in 1st for most of the race. Then with 4 laps to go some new kid rams me. Putting me in 4th. I moved my way back up in the pack to 2nd place.

Then halfway around the track I hear the anouncer anouce to finish your lap.

On the last turn the first place leader was ahead by about 4 feet.

then he freaks, see's me and rams into the side of the pipe. I pass him to get a .5 second win!!!! I was racing Stock Truck.

My best race was at my LHS. It was in FEB 2000. Every year they hold a trophy race. So it was my first opportunity to go so I did. I am 11 and it was my second race. The place was jam packed. I was racing novice. I got all first place in my 3 qualifiers except one where my switch got turned off by my Batt wire.(Long Story) Any way in my last Qualifier I was racing Great Totally smooth. I was about to lap this one guy and I flipped over and then the race was over and Finished my lap. What I didnt know was there was a rule that u cant get over 12 laps or they will bump u up. So they bumped me up to buggy stock because I got 13 laps. It sucked! I got 6th out of 7th though. Oh well.. I was in first though for a while in buggy stock. My fingers where shaking and every thing. I thought I was going to beat a bunch of Adults. Then I flipped over and made a lot of mistakes. Everyone passed me. I ended up gaining one more position.

My best race was also my worst.

It was about 20 years ago in SoCal at a track called Briggs-Cunningham. I was racing stock with an Associated RC-12e and had qualified for the A-main. As usual, I was a bit nervous when it came time to get on the driver stand but that quickly passed and I found my self driving the best race of my life.

It was about mid-race and I had already lapped the entire field. The announcer was telling lap traffic to keep to the side and it seemed as if the crowd was cheering me on. By the last lap I had lapped the entire field twice with exception of the 2nd place finisher.

That is why it was the best race, now on to why it was the worst.

I had gone to pick up my trophy and get everything packed up to leave when I found out that I had been listed dead last! The person that had been counting my laps (Bob Novak) had missed a few for whatever reason. As a result, I received no trophy for that race which isn't all that important to me now but is when you are 13-14 years old. We pleaded our case as did the other racers, spectators, and the announcer but to no avail. Bob would not change his mind and as a result I have only Tekin ESC's and Rx's in all of my cars.

I still have the memory of that race and I'm sure I would have lost the trophy by now.

Man! That would Bite. Doesnt the track u race at have cpu lap counting? That way people could cheat if they have people count the laps.

Well, i have had 2 really good races, 2 times i have TQ'd and won in novice, i have only raced 8 times, last saturday...a diff story, Nairb can tell you about that, but i still made the A-main, and there was even a C-main, yes, 30 novice drivers, the constant pound of lexan made everyone clap and yell for 3 rounds, LOL, but i still took 4th in the A-main, oh well, next time, i am racing stock, i am done with novice

Yep, it was a long time ago and all we had were pen and paper to count laps.

Racing was just as much fun back then but a lot less expensive.
