Ice Lathe running

Does anybody have problems running a comm lathe off the ice charger and it pulling to many amps so it cuts off? Team Cobra pro com lathe with a stock motor. The stock motor only pulls like 3.3-3.5 amps freely. I think its just the band is to tight for it even with the motor moved all the way up.

Do decrease the amp draw, cut the brushes so that the face is about half the size. To do this, just take a brush and narrow both sides of the brushes. The motor shouldn't draw much current after that.
