I just rebuilt a XXcr and I just got to run it. I have replaced just about every composite piece on it and completly went through the tranny but found no problems (just needed cleaning). The problem is that it is very noisy when you run it. The problem seems to be with the spur and pinion. The gear mesh is right, the car has good run times and the motor is not heating up. I am going to replace the spur, but I cant see any thing wrong with this one. The teeth are sharp and it is clean. It looks like a 48 pitch spur, as this is what the pinion is. It has the Hydra-drive on it if that makes a difference. This is my first Losi car, and I like it quite a bit. It seems to handle well. I also have a T3 and had a TC3, so I am not new to this. Thanks in advance,
Ray

A few fellas at my track run XX-CR's, and I always think they're noisy compared to the XXX. But then again, if I run a stock motor in my XXX (with bushes) it's a lot noisier than if I run it with a bearing'd motor.
Still, I think the B3 is noisier than the XXCR, LOL makes me wonder why Associated call it the "stealth" tranny - those things couldn't sneak up on anyone ! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif
If the pinion and spur are worn, some of the noise could be coming from there....
