Last week my discharger blew up so I need a new one. Would like to stay away from bulbs because they can easily break. Just wondering your thoughts on what you like. Thanks.

That integy one sounds great, but for $30-40!?!? My bulb discharger, which only cost me +/- $10 to make, works great and has not broken. As long as you have one that is well made and take care of it, you shouldn't have any breaking bulbs. BTW, capacitors won't work, because they don't use up current or voltage, they just move the source of voltage to a new location. A discharger has to be some kind of resistance. Resistors get rid of the energy by either producing heat, light, motion, or a combination of any of those.
Hey dudes, chill out with the flames. T H said he's sorry, so it's time to give him another chance. Who wants to come here and read flames, anyway?

I know a few people who have the integy one and like it, and I know bulbs are fairly cheap, but what about the orion discharger? anyone ever use one?
BTW, We were ranting on about T H before he apologized. I have since wriiten a response to that. I agree; we need to forgive and forgot; thats what the big man upstairs would want.

Yeah I have the Integy one it's called a Indi Reactor, mine has a 30 amp discharge rate though. I like it because it is small and idiot proof.

The orion discharger is trash, if you scratch the bottom some of the electrical tracing comes off and it does not discharge. The Deans bulb discharger is good and I have had mine for a year without a bulb break or go out. It is nicely shieled and doubles as a car stand. They also make a cutoff device. After I had them on the bulbs I tray them on my trinity discharger.

Nah the only time my Integy gets hot is when discharging a full pack, plus it has a fan.

Integy makes a small discharger with a built in fan for $30-$40. You just clip it to the batt and push the button. It discharges at 20amps and cuts itself off when done. Works pretty good.

Yeah, I forgot they changed it to 30amps. I had one of the older ones that did 20amps but gave it to a friend. I use the bulb one made by MPH and it works great and never had a problem breaking a bulb. The bulb type are cheaper but I suggested the Integy because the guy said he was trying to avoid a bulb type. Its a cheap alternative and I do like the built in fan.
