I have the Shocks on now And now all I need to do is install my servo and stuff like that. The Diff still is a little stiff. It doesnt sound like it is binding though. I think it is just because it is new and I havent run it yet. I'll tell u what happens after I run it. THANKS!!

If you mean the diff doesn't spin free you may have it too tight. Follow the instructions on holding the two outdrives and try to spin the diff gear. You want it just tight enough not to slip.

The Insructions said to get it tight so that when u hold the 2 outdrives it will not move at all. It seems to be working fine but I still havent run it. I can loosen the Diff without taking it all apart again right? Just stick that allen wrench in the left outdrive and the screw and loosen it correct?

That is correct, my diff never did get super smooth, plus, it takes a run or two to get the balls and rings seated. good luck with your kit, you are going to love it!

One last thing. I put my tires and wheels on and it is much smoother now. ummm... if i move one wheel forword without a motor in should the other wheel move the other way? It does on other cars but it isnt on my XXX. Did I do something wrong? Thanks for the other help but now i need more. THANKS

Without a motor and a pinion installed, there is no resistance in the transmission,so the wheels should spin the same direction. If you hold the spur still with one hand and spin a wheel with another, they will go the opposite directions.

Well w/out a motor in the wheels turn the same way on my XXX, but not very well. If i turn the right one the left one just barely spins like it is loose. Should it move at the same speed as the one I am turning? I hope I did it right. Please Help!

Well I got the XXX for X-mas and I just got to the diff and gears. This is my first car I have put together too. I have the gear box all set in and the outdrives are sort of stiff. They move fine though. On my XXcr KE the wheels and out drives spin loose. Is is just because it is new and I have to break them in or did I do something wrong?! HELP!! As much advice as possible would be most apreciated!!
My GT's diff's move like that, its normal. I think your XXCR KE needs a diff rebuild. it also might be that your rear end isnt totally built. Because my diff is like that in my hands, but when I spin the wheels, its smooth. Build your XXX first and see if thats like that when your done building.

Sounds like your diff is TOO loose, just get it snug.

That has to be the problem, because if the outdrives were placed correctly, when you turn the right (directional right) wheel the other wheel should turn at the same speed w/o a motor.

How do I tighten it. Do I have to take the whole gear box apart. Gee I hope not because I am all done. Cant I just tighten it by putting an allen wrench in the left drive shaft and line it up with the screw and tighten it?

Nevermind I figured it out. Now the wheels turn the same way and at the same speed. I now have the diff all tuned up. Thanks! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif
