Hi. I buoght Jammin X1 crt and must paint the body. Ive got some project and question is: What colors should i use? Any changes? Do you like it? I think about black(on rear), white and blue (parma faskolor piants) but i'm afraid that it wont looks special.

I'll change it but the hardest thing will be cut it in paper or fasmask. And here's question: which is better? Fasmask or tape?

They both have their goods and bads... good about tape is that it's quicker and I find the blade will track straighter in it that LM. However the downside is that it's harder to do curves and anything that isn't straight.

LM Goods are that you can do the whole body at once, cut all your lines then peel it as you go along with out much worry about bleeds and it's easier to cut curves than with tape. Plus you usually get a crisper line with the LM. Downside is that it's more expensive and it takes longer to apply to the body. Plan on at least a whole night of putting on a coat, letting it dry and doing another coat...

Hope that helps.

if the link doesnt work then its bob dively.

I just painted a crt body. I was going to go all out with more detail than that. Same colors as well =) (black, white, and blue). I was going to have ice flames in the front, frost icicles in the front window and the sides, and checkered stripes down the back that were torn. I have done bodies like that before. Laziness got the best of me and I went way simple. Looks really cool and all my lines came out.

best of luck to ya!

and to answer your question- thick coat of fasmask, let it completely dry (a couple of hours) and then another coat. if you get it too thick it can be a pain to cut later. If you get it too thin then its hard to take off. If you leave it on too long then it looses its rubber effect.

Parma sucks becuase it will loose its rubber sealing effect after awhile. Also, it takes more coats than the brand that I recommended.

I have done some really detailed bodies before. they look nice but you tend to care alot more when they scratch. I dont care for that. I like the basic good looking bodies for bashing. here are my 2 crt bodies:

ahhh come on man, you could have done it still! It's just masking! Just do it with out shadows and you wouldn't of had a problem... I don't blame you for not doing it though, I just wanted you to know that if you drew it already then you had already done 50% of the hard work!
